Description

Céline Burnand’s work is constructed of drawings, videos, photographs, texts and performances. To a certain extent, they all stage a re-enactment or repetition of existing visual representations in order to create parallels and analogies between different moments in Time and space.

Originally inspired by Aby Warburg’s pathos formula’ (in other words, the resurgence of survival of archaic figures from the Antiquity in later societies), she has been researching the figure of the snake within different cultural contexts. In recent years, she aims at restoring relatedness between cultures ans individuals through dialogue, pedagogy and collaborative works.
