Position is a BA Camera Arts programme of events open beyond the walls of the university, offering monthly opportunities to meet the most exciting international experts and artists from the photography world and gain insights into their work, thinking and creation.

«Tactics and Mythologies» (2020-2024) explores the intersection of documentary and fictional elements and examines the connection between mythological narratives and disinformation tactics in the context of our networked present.

Andrea Orejarena and Caleb Stein’s (b. 1994, Colombia and UK respectively)
conceptual and documentary multimedia works utilise the intersection of technology, memory and desire to explore American mythologies and narratives.
Orejarena and Stein’s multimedia works often involve extensive research into how their images relate to collective image production and the networked set of images that surround us. These works are set against a backdrop of social tensions or the lingering echoes of past conflicts – present as subliminal currents, but never dominating the narrative. At the centre of her practice is the valorisation of collective processes and collaboration.
